Motor Policies and MID Access Changes (applicable to all new and existing business)

For motor policies, we’re making a small change in how we interact with the Motor Insurance Database (MID) through a new trusted partner, Motor Database Solutions (MDS). MDS will provide a portal called MIDAS, which we’ll use to access and update the MID starting from each motor policy’s renewal.

For cases where NIG or Farmweb update vehicles on the MID for your policyholders, this process remains unchanged post integration.

For brokers or policyholders that update vehicle details themselves

We simply need a valid email address for each policy to set up access to the MIDAS portal. This will ensure you can continue updating vehicle data seamlessly after renewal.

To make the renewal transition as smooth as possible, we’ll automatically transfer a snapshot of vehicle data to MDS 7 days before each renewal. After renewal, you’ll receive new login details from MDS, allowing you to update vehicle data just as you did before. The only action required is to update any vehicle changes on MIDAS between the snapshot date and the renewal date.

If, for any reason, you prefer us not to transfer vehicle data, please let your underwriting contact know at least 14 days before the renewal date. We aim to make this an opt-out process on a broker-by-broker basis to keep things simple for you.
