Changes to the Motor Insurance Database (MID)

What is changing?

The Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) is moving current service provider of the MID to a new cloud based platform called Navigate. The MIB are migrating policy holder records to the new platform which will be accessible from 29th April.

Existing MID users and accessing Navigate

From week commencing 22nd April, the MIB will issue a registration link to all existing policy holders who currently have access to the MID. The link will be sent from [email protected]. Any MID user accounts that are inactive or locked will not receive the MIB’s communication.

Policy holders will be unable to update their MID records between 5pm on 26th and 9am on 29th April. Updates can be made from this point onwards via the Navigate platform.

As part of the migration, only one user ID per email address will be migrated. For any single users with multiple IDs, a new user will need to be issued, each with their own email ID.
