A personal thank you to all our brokers who have supported us so well this year. 2019 is almost over and no doubt, like us, you are reflecting both on the past year and the challenges ahead in 2020. Our market place is evolving against a backdrop of increasing service experience expectation and innovation. Working in partnership with you is more important than ever in the new reality. We also believe in looking for ways to add value and to shape our service, propositions and processes around your needs. We’re investing in new technology and product innovation to ensure our offering reflects the changing needs of your clients.

2019 highlights I’d like to mention include:

• The successful launch of Motor Trade One, bringing Premises and Road risks into one policy and offering improved and instant documentation.
• Currently launching the New Commercial Combined product suite. It offers more cover as standard, and gives you, the broker the flexibility to custom-build what your clients need.
• Really proud to be the only insurer awarded Five-Star rating for both TheHub and Software Houses. Almost all of the improvements we make to our eTrading proposition, we base on your feedback and industry surveys.
• Claims 360 live for Motor, Property and Liability. This means you and your clients can start the claim online at nig.com speeding up the process.

It’s been an exciting year. We have been delighted to support you following unexpected capacity exits from the UK insurance market with fantastic results, further demonstrating the value of great partnerships. This also illustrates the broadening of our appetite to fully utilise our underwriters’ vast experience and the strong relationships they have with you. Collectively, we’re focused on providing solutions that give your clients peace of mind and reassurance when they need us most.

Earlier this year, we proudly celebrated our 125th birthday. We’ve been here across two world wars, weathered recessions and made our way through unprecedented technological changes. We will continue to develop our people, listen to both you and your clients and evolve to help you win and retain business.

Like many businesses, we’ve also seen changes in our leadership team this year. I’m confident these will safeguard and support our ambition to remain an insurer of choice for the future. As a team we’re looking forward to the New Year and the opportunities it will bring to engage with you.
